Day 133 – Aug. 28th – Trout Lake, WA

Bucket here – Since we are in “civilization” tonight with WiFi and cell service, I thought I’d write a quick update.  Sage and I hiked to a road this afternoon where we could hitch a ride back into this tiny little town.  We had food resupply boxes here and Joy was able to get us a room at Kelly’s Trout Lake Inn.  We actually rode into town on a church camp school bus!

This was our 4th day in Washington.  There has been lots of climbing so far.  A 3500 ft climb soon after we crossed into the state, then several climbs in the 2500 ft range.  We had a 2000 ft climb this afternoon before getting a ride into town.  We have gotten great views of Mt. Adam’s today and should be seeing more of this mountain over the next couple of days.

We have been able to get the essentials done on this stop:  1) food resupply, 2) shower, 3) laundry, and 4) all electronics recharged.

We will head back to the trail tomorrow morning.  The weather has been fairly good so far.  Only one night with light rain, but dry otherwise.  Cool and windy at times.  But as long as we can stay warm and dry we should be OK.

That’s it for now.  I’ve downloaded my latest photos as well.  Thank you to everyone following our journey!
