Bucket here – We made it to Whites Pass, WA this afternoon. This is PCT mile 2295.9. There is a ski resort here at Highway 12, as well as a convenience store and a hotel. It is designed to accommodate snow skiers, but works great for hikers in the off- season. Joy was able to get Sage and I a room here for tonight. It’s just a 0.5 miles from the trail, so we walked here. We will head out tomorrow morning. Our next resupply is 98 miles from here – so 5-6 days from now.
Yesterday was an amazing day! We hiked through the Goat Rocks and Knife’s Edge section of the PCT in Washington. We were fortunate to have a clear day with relatively mild winds. I have many photos of this area. If the weather was poor and foggy or rainy it would be miserable. And if there were high winds it would be dangerous. Unfortunately I have no WiFi and poor cell service here, so not sure photos will download. We may have to try again at our next stop (Snoqualmie Pass).
We’ve had a couple of cold nights (down to 30 degrees), but it is supposed to warm up , at least in this area. The weather is a big concern for us as we head into September.
That’s it for now. We keep taking this one day at a time and pushing towards Canada! Thank you to everyone who is following our journey! We appreciate your support and comments!
I am so happy you guys have stayed the course and been safe as well. What an accomplishment! Keep taking it a step and a mile at a time. You are almost at the finish line. I continue to keep you in my prayers and have shared your story with my friends and family. They too, pray for your safety. I look forward to seeing the pictures and hearing first hand your stories. You guys are awesome!
Hi Robin – Bucket here – thank you for following our journey and for the prayers. We greatly appreciate it! Kendra has been a real warrior through this trek. She has endured a lot, and keeps on going. Thanks again for all of your support!
