Today was a relatively short day. We arrived here at the Laguna Mountain Lodge at2:15 pm after an 8.9 mile hike. Water was not a problem on this stretch. We picked up a resupply box here with 5 days worth of food. Joy was able to get us rooms here. So we’ll have a bed and shower. No laundry, so we washed just a couple of items in a bucket with soap. Got them hanging out to dry now.

Looks like the Guinness hat made it!

Yes sir! Can’t go hiking without the Guinness hat! It’s about worn out, so we’ll see how long it last! Thank you for following and commenting on the posts. I hope 5 Pair’s hike is going well also.
I am a big fan of The Black Stuff.
Three of the hikers called it a day within the first 10 days so Five Pair and “Mileage” continued on. Five Pair’s hike has been interrupted due to an ankle injury. She tried hiking on it for 4-5 days but it become non-weight bearing and too painful to continue so begrudgingly, she flew home 5 days ago and visits orthopedic doc tomorrow with hopes of returning to hike with Mileage.
Hello Jim, Joy here.
that is funny you recognized and remembered that. Ron has other hats (lol) and I’m sure that hat is good and stinky since he wore it the entire AT trail, but one hates to break a tradition or give reason for curses, right?
I believe he is carrying his grandfathers pocket watch too, and it no longer works, but he had it on the AT and felt he needed it too!
Hope Five Pair and friends are progressing on their adventure. I know Ron would like their website, so he can follow along as well, if you can post it here.
I’m sure Ron will respond to you when he can,,, they won’t be in a town for a few days.
Hello Ground Control – Bucket here – I just got a chance to read your update on Five Pairs’ hike. Hopefully she can make a quick recovery and get back on the trail soon!
